Although many Jordanians do speak at least some English it is often a great ice breaker if you attempt to speak some Arabic. It's amasing how much you can communicate with only a few words. Jordanians are very friendly and will appreciate any efforts you make to learn their language (even if the pronunciation is a bit dodgy). Here are a few words to help you out.
